Cosmo′s Story

I learned very young that humans meant danger.

The village was no place for dogs like me. I roamed the streets with another young pointer boy, both of us born to survive, not to live. I don’t know what happened to my mother, I just kept moving because stopping felt dangerous.

I was always hungry. Always scared. Covered in ticks. My jaw hurt constantly from an infected bite wound, and every day I grew weaker.

Yesterday, they caught me.

I was terrified.

They said I wouldn’t have survived much longer out there.

For the first time in my life, I think they might be right.

Character & Temperament

I'm naturally a curious little guy. The world fascinates me, and I love taking my time to observe everything that's going on around me. Before I jump into something new, I like to watch, learn, and make sure it's safe.

When it comes to other dogs, my playful side really shines. I enjoy their company, love joining in games, and can often be found following their lead as I continue to learn about the world. Dogs help me feel more confident and show me that new experiences can be fun.

People are still something I'm figuring out. I can be a little wary at first, but I'm young and eager to learn. With patience, gentle encouragement, and positive experiences, my confidence continues to grow. Once I realize I'm safe, my curiosity starts to take over, and I become much more willing to explore and interact.

I'm not the kind of puppy who rushes into everything headfirst. I'm thoughtful, observant, and learning at my own pace. What I need most is understanding and guidance while I discover that the world—and the people in it—can be wonderful.

Ideal Home for Cosmo

I'm looking for a special home that understands I may need some time to settle in and build trust.

The perfect family for me will be patient, kind, and willing to guide me at my own pace. I don't need much—just a calm, stable environment where I can feel safe and learn that humans are my friends.

A confident resident dog could be a huge help for me, as I often learn by watching other dogs and taking cues from them. Having a canine friend would give me reassurance and help me gain confidence more quickly. However, it's not a requirement, and I could also thrive as the only dog in a home that is committed to helping me grow.

Since I'm still a puppy, I have every chance to blossom into a wonderful companion. With gentle guidance, consistency, and understanding, I'll quickly discover how enjoyable life with a loving family can be.
