Tomsky′s Story

My name is Tomsk, but my carers in the centre call me Tomsky as they say I’m the sweetest boy ever. 2ndchance found me on 16/8/19 in the mountains of Cyprus, literally in the middle of nowhere. I was suffering from heat stroke and I was just a step from death…. They also thought I had a broken pelvis or legs as I was unable to stand on my own. I also had testicular cancer but vet removed the tumor during my spaying and he is very optimistic about it, since in most cases that type of cancer doesn’t recur. After the vet examined me, it turns out that I didn’t have broken legs but lumbosacral stenosis (vertebrae problems). For my stenosis, vet said that I don’t need an operation and it can be managed by injecting a long-acting steroid (cortisone) around the compressed spinal nerves via a lumbar puncture, so we proceeded with that and I already feel a lot lot better. I had my first epidural steroid injection on 22/8/19 and I will continue with another 3 injections (1 per month), in the 3 following months. Then I will have 1 injection every six-months for couple more years! Vet said that I m lucky i have been rescued and that I still can have a great life and I can enjoy some good years, which I am looking forward to. I just hope someone will love me and choose me as its family member.

Character & Temperament

I am an older boy with a very sweet temperament. Despite what I have been through I still love and trust humans and I want desperately cuddles and petting. I am very friendly with the other dogs and I am obedient, calm and loving. I will be the perfect pet for any home.

Ideal Home for Tomsky

I can be the only dog or i can live with others. I am an older boy so I need a soft sofa to call my own.
