Cindy′s Story

When 2nd Chance Dogs visited the kill pound in 2019, I was a young black dog locked inside a cold, filthy cage. I was so scared that I curled up in the corner of a wooden box, hoping no one would notice me.

I had been taken from the streets together with my newborn puppies. They were sent away to another place because puppies are easier to choose, easier for people to fall in love with. But I was left behind — alone behind metal bars, confused, heartbroken, and wondering why no one wanted me.

When the 2nd Chance Dogs team saw me, they didn’t hesitate. They didn’t walk past my cage. They saw me, they saw that I deserved a chance, and they took me with them to the shelter.

That day, they gave me something I had almost lost — hope. They promised me that one day I would have a home of my own.

But years have passed, and I am still here.

I have spent my life at the shelter since 2019, watching so many dogs come and go, each one finding their forever family while I continue to wait for mine.

I am safe. I am loved. I am cared for. But I still dream of a home where I can belong, a family who will choose me, and a place where I can finally be more than just the dog who was left behind.

I may have been overlooked before, but I am still waiting for someone to see the wonderful dog I am.

Character & Temperament

I was once a ball of energy, and although I’ve slowed down a little with age, I still have my playful moments and can be just a bit mischievous at times.

I’ll show you my affectionate side once trust is built—when that happens, my love is deep and genuine. I enjoy the company of other dogs and feel most comfortable around them.

I’m still learning about the big world around me and would really benefit from guidance, patience, and gentle reassurance.

Ideal Home for Cindy

I'm searching for a patient adult only home that can help me come out of my shell.Ideally, a home with another confident doggy would be amazing for me. One special requirement is high fences because I happen to be an excellent jumper and climber!

Trainers Evaluation

Cindy has come a long way with her learning to trust people again ,she is great with any other dogs , very playful and once she comes out from her shell she is very loving and affectionate. She is is learning quickly new things and loves to explore new things as she is very intelligent.
