Hi, I’m Una. I was given as a gift to an immigrant housemaid by her employer, whose dog had a litter of puppies.
My mum loved me very much. She came to Cyprus from a poorer country to work, like so many others, working long hours for very little money. Life is already difficult when you are trying to support yourself, and having the responsibility and expense of a pet can become overwhelming.
Giving someone an animal as a gift may seem kind, but a dog is not a present — it is a lifelong responsibility. Sadly, the people who gave me to my mum didn't think about whether she would realistically be able to manage that responsibility.
As my mum got older, she became weaker and slower and eventually needed surgery. She could no longer take me for something as simple as a walk around the neighbourhood or give me everything I needed.
She loved me enough to ask 2nd Chance Dogs for help.
Now I'm looking for my second chance.
Please help 2nd Chance Dogs by donating … BY DONATING YOU ARE ALSO HELPING THE OTHER DOGS IN THE 2nd Chance Dogs Rehoming Center. Ps. You can find out about the other dogs that are under our care here...https://www.2ndchancedogs.org/dogs/
