Kiwi′s Story

Someone dumped us in a landfill, where we hid beneath an old sofa — four tiny pups, skinny, covered in fleas, scared and helpless. Our tummies were empty, and we stayed curled together to feel safe in the cold, noisy world around us.

Then kind hands found us.

Now, at 2nd Chance Dogs, our bellies are full, our beds are warm, and our tails wag nonstop. Every day we grow stronger, happier, and finally learn what love feels like.

Character & Temperament

Unlike the rest of my crew, I'm a bit more opinionated and vocal. If something catches me off guard, I'm likely to bark first and think about it later! I like to make my feelings known and I'm not shy about sharing my opinions.

I'm also a little cautious when it comes to new people, unfamiliar things, or changes to my routine. I prefer having a chance to observe and process things before deciding they're safe. Once I realize there's nothing to worry about, my confidence starts to grow.

I'm not the fastest learner in the world, but that's okay—after all, repetition is the key to learning! With patience, consistency, and a little encouragement, I get there in the end. I may need a few extra reminders, but I'm always trying my best.

Beneath my cautious and chatty exterior is a puppy who is learning how to navigate the world one step at a time. With understanding, guidance, and a sense of humor, I'll continue to grow into a wonderful companion.

Ideal Home for Kiwi

I'm looking for a patient and understanding home that will help me build confidence at my own pace. A calm, predictable environment with positive guidance and consistent routines will help me thrive. I may need a little extra time to adjust to new things, but with patience, repetition, and encouragement, I'll continue to make great progress.
