Hi I am Spike! well this is what the nice people at 2nd Chance Dogs call me!

Unfortunately my previous owner had some really serious health issues and was addicted to a substance, sometimes when he was not himself he would abuse me, I am so forgiving but even thou I forgave him, he still took me to this awful place and I never saw him again, lucky for me the nice people from 2nd Chance Dogs came, picked me up and took me to their lovely rehoming centre and the rest is history.

I now have all these nice friends at the rehoming centre but would really like to have a home.

They keep calling me Spike but I like the sound of it and I always get a nice treat when they call me and I go to my carers.

WARNING I am a lover boy, I love humans and love small humans, I am very gentle with them, I love to play, love attention, love other dogs too , I don’t mind sharing my food with others and I especially love treats. I have completely forgotten my past, at the centre I love to play with Mickey the black Labrador. we can play for hours and he is in the run next to mine so we keep each other company.

I would love a home that would have a big yard, all Beit even if it is small as long as my new parents take me for a walk and exercise regularly it would be fine too. I like company so if one of my parents would be home most of the time it would be superb but then again as long as they are not away all day because I love company, small humans are nice too as long as they know how to treat me.

Spike is a wonderfull dog with a great temprament, he loves humans small and large, is not afraid of any strangers, has no issues sharing his food, is good with other dogs large and small once correctly introduced.

Spike needs some work on fence reactivity when a dog is on the other side of a fence he seems to be very aroused but once the fence is not there he is fine

He needs a home that humans can spend time with him as he loves the company of humans not tobe left alone for extended periods of time initially

He is perfect on lead and knows all the basic cues. ( sit , down etc)
