ADOPTION DONATION

& What is included

Our organization makes no profit from your adoption donation.

The adoption fees we charge go towards covering some of the basic expenses which our organization has already made in order to prepare these dogs so that they can be rehomed successfully.  This includes neutering, micro-chipping and protecting them against parasites and all the relevant tests needed to make sure you are getting a healthy pet. We actually spend more money than what we get from the adoption donation in order to prepare them for their new life. Some dogs also require major surgery and foster care and work by a qualified trainer before they can be adopted, we cover all these expenses and is the reason why we actively do fundraising  and events in order to cover these expenses. Adopting an dog from 2nd Chance Dogs costs a lot less than buying an dog from a breeder or pet store.
The adoption donation does not cover the cost of running our Rescue, Rehabilitation and Re-homing center nor feeding or any specialized care the dog may have needed before it was ready for healthy and ready adoption.

What is included

In the adoption donation
When we say that our ”dogs are ready for adoption” this means that our dogs are healthy and ready to be placed in a home.
All of our dogs upon arrival to our center receive tick and flea treatment, dewormed and receive all of their Vaccines. They are also immediately tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia Canis & Anaplasmosis by means of the 4DX test. Further more they are also tested for Leishmania by taking a blood sample and sending it to the Government vet services. We take blood and test for Brucella Canis
